Founded in August 2005, Mollitia initially dedicated its activity in the commercialisation of medical devices, and technical aids focused on geriatrics and people with reduced mobility. At the same time, Mollitia started the development of a small project focused on providing the Portuguese market with more and better solutions and products for a fast-growing area: Cryopreservation of Umbilical Cord Blood.  The demand for these solutions was growing at a fast pace, both nationally and internationally and we started to focus more on this area. Our project is based on a very close relationship of cooperation between the company, its customers, and the manufacturers, which allowed from the start to establish very privileged relations as business partners.

Mollitia’s activity is based on continuous analysis and improvement of processes and products to guarantee our partners the highest levels of quality and satisfaction. For Mollitia, more than customers, there are business partners and the development of business relationships allows us to work together on product development and achieve the highest levels of satisfaction according to technological capacity, certifications, and specifications.

MOLLITIA has a full commitment to the implementation of the requirements of the QMS to reach the quality standards defined in the norm NP EN ISO13485: 2016.

The quality policy is based on the following pillars:

  • Continuously improve the quality management system

Founded in August 2005, MOLLITIA begins its activity dedicated to the commercialization of medical devices and technical aids, focused on solutions for Geriatrics and reduced mobility.

At the same time, Mollitia began the development of a project focused on providing the Portuguese market with more and better solutions and products for a growing area: Cryopreservation of Umbilical Cord Blood.

Progressively, MOLLITIA begins to increase the number of products developed, given growing demand of the national and international market. The project has always been based on a close relationship of cooperation between the laboratories, its customers and the manufacturers, which allows us to create a product of excellent quality.

In 2009, with two facilities focused on contact with the public in a store and a showroom open to the public in one of the noblest areas of the city, MOLLITIA decided to suspend the activity related to geriatrics, devoting all the attention and financial capacity to cryopreservation. With this decision, Mollitia moves to Porto’s Industrial Zone improving its storage capacity and transport of products and materials.

In 2012, in response to growing demand from customers, MOLLITIA faced the need to increase its storage capacity and moves its facilities to Santa Maria de Avioso, in Maia, increasing capacity from 80m² to 250 m². Still, in 2012, the process of internationalization of the company begins, gaining the trust of different laboratories in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Ecuador, South Africa, Lebanon, among others.

In 2014 to respond to the high growth of the export activity, MOLLITIA, changes its facilities to the Industrial Zone of Maia increasing the area of its premises to 500m².

With the implementation of a new logistics project and partnerships established with major international laboratories in March 2016, we would once again change facilities fully equipped for future challenges. With a storage capacity of over 750 m², fully air-conditioned medical warehouse, four production rooms and over 300 square meters of complementary administrative areas.
